Book Review By Dorothy Halligan
Breaking Her Fall by Stephen Goodwin

Tucker Jones wants to be a good father, but his teenage daughter, Kat, puts him through his paces. A call during the night, from one of Kat's friends, starts a ball rolling that only gathers momentum when Tucker, acting as a brave knight, overreacts while trying to save his daughter's honor.

The reader learns more about what brought Tucker to his currant circumstances as he tells his story. We meet his friends and walk with him as he sorts out the events that led to his arrest and subsequent prosecution for assault.

Stephen Goodwin lives in the Washington area, and he uses his knowledge to create a setting of prosperity and privelege. It is within this backdrop, that the family fights their way back to normal living. The author uses contextual musical lyrics and poetry to raise the reader's understanding of different character's feelings. These techniques evoke an emotional introspective from the reader, and we grow internally, along with Tucker Jones, and his family, as the story unfolds.
