The Town and the City by Jack Kerouac

The Town and the City is about the Martin family. Peter is the major figure in the novel. As he grows, he learns and absorbs the many lessons that life offers through his own experiences and that of his family. There is a sense of change occurring for the family as the children grow up and pursue their dreams. The narrative touches on each member of the Martin family and is thoughtful towards each characters triumphs and struggles.
