This is the story of Ernest Shackleton's 1914 trip to Antarctica where he was supposed to cross the uncharted polar landscape on foot. What happened was an even more exciting adventure than the one he had planned. His ship, the aptly named ENDURANCE, became ice-locked and was eventually crushed to pieces. For many months, Shackleton and his crew floated around on drifting ice. In time, Shackleton and a few crewmembers used a lifeboat to travel 850 nautical miles to find rescue. | ||
