| Jessica Fletcher, famed mystery writer from Cabot Cove, Maine, travels to San Francisco to promote her latest book. She is anticipates having a wonderful time there, as she is meeting up with her long-time romantic interest, George Sutherland, Scotland Yard Inspector. However, once again, Jessica takes on the task of solving another mystery. While giving a lecture at a woman's prison, an inmate slips a diary into Jessica's handbag. The diary explains how the woman ended up imprisoned for murdering her husband – in spite of the fact that she is innocent.
