Book Review By Lucy Johnson
The Strong Shall Live by Louis L'Amour

This is a collection of short stories about the spirited men and women that faced the numerous challenges of settling in the American western frontier. Through a series of strong, complex heroes and heroines, the reader begins to imagine the daily danger and risk these independent Americans were willing to take on. As they did, they had to face cutthroat outlaws and thieves as well as hostile Indians and Mother Nature herself. However, each of the main characters has an inner drive and dream that keeps them focused with a will to live.
