The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

Harvard Professor Robert Langdon, after his experience with the Vatican in "Angels and Demons", returns to solve the murder of a prominent curator at Le Louvre. Summoned there by the French police, he runs into his eventual love interest, a hostile police force, and an extremely weird arrangement of the dead curator's body, which astonishingly was performed by the curator himself.
