This is a children's picture book inspired by a Roman Vishniac photograph. This book tells the story of Rachel, a young Jewish girl in Warsaw in the late 30s. Forced to stay inside all winter, Rachel paints flowers on the walls of her bedroom. Concurrently, her family is struggling with the realities of Nazi Europe.
