Hester is sent to Liverpool to look after spoiled 8 year old Lonnie. Lonnie's aunt takes an instant dislike to both of them. Just when Lonnie is beginning to blossom into a regular girl, her aunt hatches a scheme to fire Hester, and sends Lonnie away to a boarding school.
