| A presidential election is drawing near with opposition Senator Sexton tying his election hopes on NASA bashing, citing mission failures, cost overruns, etc. NASA supporter, President Herney is oddly silent. The main character, Rachel Sexton, daughter of the Senator, is brought in to validate an exciting discovery, her presence requested by the President. The discovery is a meteor, buried 200 feet deep in a glacier, which has fossilized evidence of life in outer space. Throughout the book a shadowy figure (the Controller) is directing the murderous actions of a 3-man Delta team, and when Rachel and others discover problems with the meteor, this team is directed to eliminate them. | ||
