The fourth novel in the Earth's Children series is largely a travel book. It begins as Ayla and Jondalar leaves the Mamouth hunters with whom they have been staying and journey across Europe to make their home with Jondalar's tribe. As they travel, the couple face many challenges, including the natural elements, and an encounter with clansmen, like those who have raised Ayla. As they draw closer to their destination Ayla begins to wonder if she will be accepted by Jondalar's people. | ||
