| Dr. Temperance Brennan, Forensic Anthropologist for the Province of Quebec, visits a Carolina island. Here, skeletal remains are discovered. Prior to this, she dug up the corpse of Sister Elisabeth Nicolet,a candidate for sainthood. Further investigation of these remains led Tempe to a university where things became stranger still. A young college girl is missing and it is suspected that she has fallen victim to a cult. Oddly, all of these cases are connected, and it is up to Tempe to find out how.
