Gwen Cassidy goes to Scotland hoping to lose her virginity. She's spent her life being logical, concentrating on science, and now she wants to discover if she has a heart. While going on a short hike, she falls into and cave and onto a man in an enchanted sleep, waking him. Drustan MacKeltar is from the 16th century, and at first he believes that Gwen is a bit crazy. He finds out that he's, in fact, in his own time. As he works on getting back, he and Gwen begin to fall in love. This story not only has some traveling back in time (Drustan and Gwen), but also some traveling forward in time, from 16th century Scotland forward to present day Scotland. Drustan, in the past, has to discover who plotted against him and forced him into an enchanted sleep, and this results in danger to both him and Gwen. This book is even better than the previous Karen Marie Moning books I have read, even if the implications of the time travel tended to make my head spin, and there were no few moments that had me near tears in sympathy for the characters. | ||
