This novel follows the lives of three very different women as they intersect in unexpected ways.
Lisa is a major player in the London publishing scene and is planning on being promoted to a position as the head editor of a New York based magazine. She is devastated when she learns that she will instead be transferred to Dublin where she must build a new women's magazine from scratch. From Dublin Lisa must save her failing marriage, confront her identity, and builds a hit magazine from nothing. Ashling is Lisa's shy assistant editor who still suffers emotional scars from a childhood with a mentally ill mother. She finds herself in a job that she's not sure that she can handle, but when she realizes that everyone else in her life is just as confused and unhappy as she is, she decides to do whatever she can to help. Clodagh is Ashling's childhood best friend. She has a wonderful husband and two adorable children, but she is miserable. All of her friends are having a great time on the singles scene, and she is forced to be a homemaker. But Clodagh risks everything when she embarks on an affair with Ashling's boyfriend. As the lives of these characters progress, they learn the true meanings of love and friendship. They discover that things (and people) are not always what they appear to be. | ||
