When Joss Grant learns that she is adopted, she tracks down her biological family and learns that she is the heir to an old family mansion in Essex, Belhadden Hall. Though villigers warn the Grant's of hauntings, Joss moves into the house whith her husband, Luke, and her son Tom. Pretty soon stranges phenomena occurs. Ghostly laughter is heard and roses are left on pillows.
The events become sinister when bruises appear on Tom's body. Luke suspects Joss, but Joss decides to further investigate the house's history. In the 15th century a powerful witch lived in the house and cause king Edward IV to fall in love with her daughter, Katherine. A distraught Katherine still menaces the house, and King Edward still lusts after all of the female descendants of the witch (including Joss). Joss becomes increasingly terrified when she learns that no male heir has ever survived to inherit Belhadden. This makes her fear for Tom's life. As events push Joss to the edges of sanity, she must find a way to break the spell. | ||
