Eleven year old Eliza Chapman is sent to an affluent boarding school Ashdown Academy in Vancouver, British Columbia. At first, life at boarding school is fun and exciting. Eliza likes the rules and regulations, wearing a uniform and making new friends, and soon gets used to boarding school rituals. As the year goes on, Eliza develops a tentative friendship with her roommate Helen - a rebellious and difficult girl, not well liked by staff and students alike. Helen starts a Daring Game among the five girls of the yellow dorm, but as tensions in the yellow dorm escalate, so do the dares, and the game begins to spiral out of control.
Eliza works to be loyal to her school as well as to her new friend, while struggling with her desire to put off growing up. | ||
