Going Out in Style by Chloe Green

Fashion stylist Dallas O'Connor is terrified when she discovers the body of the magazine shoot's top model hanging on th set when she arrives early one morning. She's even more terrified when she realizes the killer is still there, following her with a knife. She manages to hide until the police arrive, but they don't believe her story. Then the killer shows up at her house in the middle of the night, and his method of convincing her that he's innocent is to kidnap her. With her own truck.

Dallas is inclined to believe him, even if he is nuts. So, she and Raul begin searching for a mysterious roll of film that he insists will prove his innocence. The first place they check goes up in flames, and the two of them are caught on video fleeing the scene, so they are all of a sudden on the run. Questions keep popping up about Dallas' best friend Leo, who was the dead model's manager and friend. Dallas knows Leo didn't kill the girl, but she can't seem to convince anyone else. So, she delves into his past to find some proof, and begins to realize she didn't know her friend all that well. Things keep catching on fire; the magazine is still on a deadline; her job is on the line due to her involvement; and the first attractive, employed, straight man she's met in Dallas, Texas, in a long time seems to think she's a murderer. Things are desperate, and Dallas O'Connor doesn't plan to give up until she's proven her friend's innocence, as well as her own and Raul's. Then another body appears, and the situation grows worse.
