Book Review By BethG
Of Men and Mountains by William O. Douglas

The author of "Of Men and Mountains," William O. Douglas, served about 40 years as a Supreme Court Justice. He was from Yakima, Washington. He developed infantile paralysis when five. Though he survived it, he was physically he weak. He overcame his physical weakness by spending all the time he could hiking in the nearby Cascade Mountains. He came to deeply appreciate the mountains, their beauty and secrets, as well their perils. If you don't understand why conservationists want to preserve mountain habitat, this is a book you should read.
