Living Dead In Dallas by Charlaine Harris

This is the second book in the Sookie Stackhouse series by Harris. Sookie is called upon by the vampires to help find a missing vampire in Dallas, they have agreed to have Vampire Bill, Sookie's boyfriend, accompany her to question the humans involved. Of course nothing is every that easy and Sookie is almost kidnapped before she is even out of the airport.

She has to infiltrate a religous cult who thinks that the only good vampire is a burning one. Sookie ends up being taken hostage, clawed and poisoned, and finding a dead coworker at a sex party that may involve killing. A waitress just cannot count on sore feet being the only problem anymore.
