The Gentle Rebel by Gilbert Morris

Nathan Winslow fights over a lady with his cousin. Both of them end up not marrying her. Nathan at first is a Tory during America's war for Independence. He then becomes a Patriot. He hires a boy to work for him, but finds out (after a very long time) that it's a girl dressed up as a boy. He gets really mad, and neglects the girl.
