This is the third book of the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris.
Sookie, as a waitress in a small town in Louisiana, wants nothing to do with vampires, shapeshifters, or her own telepathic abilities. Well, with the exception of her boyfriend, Bill Compton, who happens to have sharp pointy teeth and a need for warm blood. Bill however, is getting in deeper and going higher in the ranks of the vampire community and when he disappears, the vampires call Sookie to find him. Of couse having to stay with a werewolf, Alcide, makes things a little awkward, not to mention the fact that Sookie finds him very attractive. Learning that Bill may have betrayed her with another woman, getting staked, discovering a dead body, and having to live through encounters with vampires and werewolves alike makes Sookie more than your average barmaid. | ||
