Book Review By Angel Manners
The Duchess by Jude Deveraux

In this novel a young heiress, Claire Willoughby, has traveled from New York to Scotland to find a husband so she can come into her inheritance, thereby giving her the ability to care for her family.
In London, she meets the Duke of MacArran, Harry Montgomery, who has been sent by his dictator of a mother to woo and marry the heiress. Claire, a great lover of scottish history, is fascinated by Harry, especially his scottish castle and fancies herself in love, so she agrees to marry him.
Upon arriving at the scottish castle, Bramley, she finds an ill man, who is actually the her favorite author/explorer, Frank Baker, but in real life he is Vellie, the true Duke. Claire finds herself falling for Vellie, and discovering her feelings for Harry were not what they once were.
Throughout the story, we find the two lead characters on a voyage of discovery about themselves, which allows the reader a refreshingly unpredicatable romance.
