Moonlight Mistress by Patricia Rice

In a plot to secure her ill-gained lands, Lady Ravenna traps Sir Phillipe into marriage by pretending to have borne his child. In fact, in a drugged induced frenzy he has raped and impregnated Aelvina, a young woman he had sworn to protect.

When they meet again they both assume themselves betrayed by the other but in her effort to find her missing child Aelvina is forced to become Phillipe's mistress. He assumes she is part of the plot which sees him married to evil Ravenna, but realizes eventually that Aelvina is in fact the rightful heiress to Ravenna's lands. He may help her regain her lands and their baby, but he can never marry her or admit the child as his own legitimate heir.
