Jane's Warlord by Angela Knight

Jane Colby publishes her own newspaper, and her specialty is covering crime stories. When a particularly shocking, violent crime is committed in her small rural town, she senses something different than the norm with the way the killer brutalized his victim, but she never once suspects that this killer has struck before --- hundreds of years ago, and is actually a time traveler from the future.

Baran Arvid has been sent from three hundred years in the future to hunt down and kill the manic criminal who has now marked Jane as his next victim. If Baran isn't able to prevent Jane's murder the course of history will change. The predatory time traveler is crafty, extremely dangerous, and has one goal in mind: kill Jane no matter who or what tries to stand in his way.

But Baran has special talents on his side: he's a genetically engineered warrior with super strength. Yet, convincing Jane he's her protector and trying to keep her safe isnt an easy task, and Baran has his hands full with the spunky reporter who is just as determined to stop this killer before he stops her. During the course of their hunt for the killer, Jane and Baran find they can't resist the flaming desire that explodes between them. Meanwhile, the killer gets more cunning and tries to lure Jane away from Baran, resulting in a final show down between him and the ferocious warrior. After it's all over, Jane and Baran realize their lust has turned into love, and Jane decides to go with Baran to the future.
