Book Review By Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy
The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon

As events lead the American Colonies ever closer to the Revolutionary War, time traveler Claire Fraser and her husband Jamie are drawn into conflict despite their wish to live peacefully on their back country homestead.
Jamie , a veteran of the last Scottish uprising in 1745, must lead men into battle once again while Claire, a doctor, accompanies him. Their love is the focal part of the story but it is not a romance. Issues including slavery, native Americans, and the revolution from both sides are explored in this novel.
