Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur Eggs by Max McCoy

Indiana Jones's adventure starts on the eve of Halloween when an alluring nun pleads him to help her search for her missing father, Professor Angus Starbuck who has sent her a bone from a prehistoric dinosaur. When Indy realizes that the bone is not as ancient as it should be, he links up with the missionary and sets off to the Gobi desert, where she believes her father is. On the way there they have to pass through parts of China and Mongolia to reach their destination, fighting-off sadistic warlords, bloodthirsty wild dogs and vicious killers. At last they find Joan's father, living amongst an innocent primeval tribe. There they experience first-handedly the hatching of one of the triceratops, a dinosaur. Conversely, Indy can not stay nor take the relic with them since the path to this hidden tribe is threatening to collapse. Again, Indy returns home empty-handed but with a worthy adventure to cherish.
In this book, the famous villains Belloq and Lao Che are also introduced and it's great to see Indy outsmart them both. Wu Han and Granger are also present, the latter being Indy's and Joan's guide into the desert. This book hosts ideas resembling the Indiana Jones movies: ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark' and ‘The Last Crusade'.
