Book Review By Debbie
Before Night Falls by Jeya Jenson

Rachel Marks couldn't believe it! She couldn't believe that she was forced to close her beloved store, The Book Nook, but with the new chain store in the mall and all of the online stores to compete with, she just couldn't keep up. So here she was, almost thirty-three years old, flat broke, in debt for who knows how long and she was starting over. Still, Rachel knew that if she could get a good job she would be out of debt within a few years so she started looking. After months of rejection, humiliating interviews and a slow economy, Rachel was ready to take just about anything. A classified ad for a hostess at Mystique Nightclub, a Goth-themed club on the edge of town was her last chance. Rachel knew that all the girls who worked there were real knock outs, but the pay was good and she had to at least give it a shot. As Rachel approached the club, built to resemble a medieval castle, she couldn't shake the feeling that her life was about to change – and it did.

Devon Carnavorn, multi-millionaire owner of the club, took a chance on her and hired her to be a waitress at the popular establishment. After two weeks of hard work, Rachel's hard work was rewarded when she was promoted to scheduling supervisor. Thrilled at the promotion, Rachel lowered her guard for a few moments and found herself reacting to Devon's sex appeal. Immediately realizing it would be a mistake to mix business and pleasure, she and Devon parted on amicable terms. Rachel had no way of knowing that Devon had already chosen her as his new mate. It had been many years since Devon had toyed with the idea of bringing a human over, but he wanted to turn her into a vampire.
