Ruth Bannion, who was introduced in Nora Roberts'earlier novel "Reflections" has grown into a confident woman and after 5 years in the company she has achieved her dream of "prima balerina" with the famous Nick Davidov as her partner.
She is having a tepid relationship with designer and suddenly she finds that she yearns for something more out of life. Out of the blue, she finds that she is romantically attacted to her mentor Davidov and though she feels an answering spark in hime he refuses to acknowledge it.
