Book Review By Jack Goodstein
Weighed in the Balance by Anne Perry

This novel in the Monk series focuses on Oliver Rathbone who is defending a foreign noblewoman for slander. She has accused the wife of an exiled prince of a German principality of poisoning her husband. There seems to be no possible way the woman could have done it. Rathbone enlists the aid of Monk who travels abroad to see if he can get information, and finds a little romance himself. The whole case centers on the kind of poison used.
