The Truth by Terry Pratchett

William de Worde is the son of a noble family in the city of Anhk-Morpork. He breaks away from the prescribed life of luxury, much to his father's disgust, and begins the Discworld's first newspaper. Everything starts well, he quickly gains a staff and delivery service, but trouble is just around the corner. William investigates a strange attempted murder at the Patrician's Palace. The Guild of Engravers set up a rival newspaper, and a pair of dangerous looking men in dark suits are noticed lurking in the shadows.
