Book Review By Jack Goodstein
The Philadelphia Story by Philip Barry

Tracy Lord was married to C.K. Dexter Haven and she divorced him because of his drinking. She has become engaged to the snobbish George Kittredge. Just before the wedding Haven shows up at the house, invited by Tracey's little sister. At the end of a party prior to the wedding, Tracey gets drunk with a reporter who has come to cover the society wedding, and George leaves in a huff. Tracey wakes up the next morning with a hang over, serious questions about her forthcoming marriage to George, and a changed attitude to C.K. Dexter Haven.
