David Harrowsen is an agent with Colorado Bureau of Investigation. With his wife, Althia, he is taking time off in Rye, CO to contemplate his future with the CBI. A series of sinister events unfold: Althia finds herself being stalked; a ranch wife is brutally attacked; and a newcomer to Rye commits suicide. The central character in these incidents is Lillith Gamble, a beautiful, talented, but troubled girl who wishes to follow a career in theater. David and Althia are determined to discover the mystery behind these events.
