Bill Kaiser is a man on a mission. He's a computer genius bent on saving the historic Carnegie-Hayden Library-Lyceum from being converted into America's first privately-owned prison. Bill is arrested while breaking into the home of Senator Arvin Baker, the man behind the plan to sell the building to industrialist Edward Mackinnon.
Faking insanity, Bill is sent to the psychiatric ward at Bellevue Hospital, where he forms a friendship with Sharon Blautner, a nurse at the hospital. When Bill dupes Sharon into bringing him a "care package" and then blows up half of the prison ward in his escape, she is, at first, suspected of being his accomplice. But when Senator Baker's computer explodes, taking the senator and his family with it, Sharon is enlisted to help the police and the FBI apprehend Bill, who is now targeting Edward Mackinnon and has snatched the man's son and his $52 million Van Gogh and threatens to destroy both if Mackinnon does not obey his commands and transform the Carnegie-Hayden into a library/daycare/theater... | ||
