Ginger Pye by Eleanor Estes

Ginger Pye is a story about a puppy who is very smart who is named Ginger Pye. One day, Ginger is puppy-napped by a bully named Bullwinkle whose father runs a circus. The puppy's owners, Jerry and Rachel (brother and sister), look for the puppy but fail to find her. They finally give up when they see a grown dog running towards them. It's Ginger Pye! After two long years, she came back. They notify the police and the police go after the puppy's kidnapper.
