In this installment of the "Bride Series", we are re-introduced to Spenser Heatherington, Lord Beecham, and Helen Mayberry. Helen, who is talking to her friend, Alex Sherbrooke, is overheard by Lord Beecham, who is intrigued by their conversation and decides he would like to meet this very tall lady. Helen, also wants to meet Lord Beecham because she thinks he would be a good partner in her adventure to find an ancient artifact, King Edward's Lamp, since he is able to read ancient texts.
At first, Spenser wrongly believes that Helen wishes to have him as a lover, and decides to go on the adventure after she tackles him in the park, but she informs him that she wants him only as a partner, not a lover. Disappointed, but still greatly intrigued, he decides to go along with her, but the passion between the two is great. Spenser and Helen both are staunchly against marriage though for their own separate reasons and in addition to that, there is a villain who wants to find the legendary lamp that they are after. | ||
