Book Review By Jóhanna
Frederica by Georgette Heyer

Vernon, Marquis of Alverstoke, is rich, handsome and utterly self-centered and it is therefore as much a surprise to him as to anyone else when he agrees to help a distant connection (she can't even be called a relative) bring her lovely sister out in London society. Frederica Merriville's only thought is to find a man who will provide her very silly little sister, Charis, with a comfortable home and a pleasant marriage. Alverstoke is soon in the confidences of Frederica and her younger brothers, and is frequently called on to extricate them from some trouble or other. When little Felix manages to smuggle himself aboard a hot air balloon and falls out and injures himself when it crashes in a tree, Alverstoke goes beyond the call of duty to ensure his and Frederica's comfort and safety. It is at this point that he realises that not only is he very fond of both boys, but he has fallen in love with Frederica. But the question is: does she love him?
