    In the fifth installment of the Bridgerton series, Eloise Bridgerton, a 28-year-old spinster, has sudden feelings of loneliness as her best friend marries her older brother. Eloise, whose favorite past time is letter writing, has been exchanging letters with her distant cousin, Marina, a widow. After a year has passed the widow, Phillip Crane, sends a letter asking her to come to his estate to decide if they could possibly date. The letter, coming during Eloise's time of loneliness, spurs her to meet Sir Phillip.
    When Eloise arrives, she finds that Phillip is a troubled recluse with two twin children and he wants her to care for the household and children. Even though Eloise is angered by the idea, she decides to stick around and see if she really does have a future with Phillip, since the is a magnetic pull between the two of them. However, the decision to marry is taken from both their hands since all four of her brothers show up and discover her with Phillip unchaperoned.
