Shane Schofield is a leader of an elite United States front line team who ‘stumble' upon a distress signal sent by scientists at a remote ice station in the middle of nowhere. The story begins as scientists discover something buried deep underground in a 100 million-year-old block of ice, something made of metal. They soon require assistance and it turns into a rescue mission when they discover that the divers sent to explore the metallic object in the ice are ripped to pieces by something, something not human. When multiple countries discovered the distress signal they all prepare to 'acquire' this piece of 'advanced technology' through all means possible.
But Shane Schofield and his team are on the scene first. Soon after Shane's team arrives the French come into and they battle it out inside the ice station. After, of course, the 'good guys' win they send a team under the ice through underwater passageways that leads them into the cavern in the ice. They then realize that they will not be alone in the near future and the stories of betrayal begin. Throughout the whole book Schofield and (most of) his crack team are being repeatedly shot at, grenaded, stabbed, punched, kicked betrayed and picked off one-by-one by killer whales. | ||
