| Caroline Trent is an heiress who needs to escape her evil guardian, Oliver Prewitt. Blake Ravenscroft is a spy for England's war department who is looking for a spy by the name of Carlotta De Leon at Oliver Prewitt's home. The two come together when Caroline is escaping through the side window (she is going into hiding for six weeks until she gains her inheritance), and Blake catches her, thinking she is the evil Carlotta.
Caroline pretends to be Carlotta because she finds that Blake's home is the perfect place to hide for six weeks. Blake and Caroline find that they are strongly attracted to each other.
