Book Review By Louisa Eggleton
As The Crow Flies by Jeffrey Archer

"As The Crow Flies" is the saga of Charlie Trumper whom, after his grandfather's death, takes over running of his fruit cart in the streets of London during the first few years of the 20th century. The book follows his progress from the small cart, to owning his first shop after his service in World War 1, and his further quest to fulfill his dream of owning the "biggest barrow in the world". However, it is not an easy process and there are many obstacles and people who want to see his dream squashed, especially a determined, wealthy lady who can use her money to stop his goals. It also follows the events of his family life, meeting his wife and having a family. The story starts in 1900 and goes until 1970, capturing many difficult periods of the last century.
