Katherine Macdonald, Lord Strathmore's bastard little sister, is surprised to find a man in her room, and she is even more surprised when he kisses her. Kat immediately lets him know she is not a woman who dallies.
Lord and Lady Strathmore, who are fighting, make a wager, Lady Strathmore betting her sister will get a marriage proposal before Lord Strathmore's sister, Kat, will. As Kat fights the passion that flares between her and Devon, Murien, Lady Strathmore's sister, fights to gain his attention.
