The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

Christopher Boone is extremely intelligent but also autistic. He tries to find the killer of his neighbor's dog. Because of the writer's style, the reader is treated to insights into the autistic mind as Christopher and his father cope with his autism as well as his mother's death. The main adventure of the book involves Christopher taking a long trip on his own after discovering some troubling truths about his family. By the end, the reader has the answer to the initial mystery of the dead dog as well as a new understanding of life with autism.
