Eshaya Moya - Wind Spirits by Jane Flowers

Evan is a fifteen year old boy living on a farm in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. After the death of both parents he is sent to a state orphanage where he meets a young girl who has been abused by her father Hhe also meets a kindly farmer who becomes an unofficial foster father. As the two teens approach adulthood, the girl's father is released from prison. He is mentally ill and begins to stalk his daughter. Evan is offered a managerial position on the farm belonging to his new foster father, but first he has to complete his army service . The girl goes off to train as a nurse. Evan is injured and ends up being nursed by his own girlfriend, who is still in great danger from her father. When Evan recovers, the two of them move to the farm and the father begins his final moves to regain control of the girl. In a tension filled ending the events all come together in the wilds of Africa.
