Book Review By L. Watson
Scandal Bound by Anita Mills

Ellen Marling married fat old Baron Brockhaven for money. But as she prepares for her wedding night, she changes her mind and leaps out the bedroom window into the arms of Alex Devereux, Marquess of Trent, the most handsome, dangerous and scandal ridden lord in England.

Alex was drunk otherwise he would not have agreed to take the plain young woman in his carriage across the length of England to York. He is even more surprised the next morning to realize his travelling companion was the previous night's bride. But even he could not be so callous to return Ellen to Brockhaven.

Ellen and Alex endure a broken carriage axle, being stranded in an abandoned hunting lodge, Alex's deathly illness and hiding at his country estate to keep her from the clutches of Brockhaven. They cannot seem to help falling in love, but Ellen is still Brockhaven's wife.
