This is a spoof of the Harry Potter novels. Barry Trotter, Ermine Cringer, and Lonald Measley are on another magical adventure. The three youthful wizards are now 22-years old. They must find and kidnap author J.G. Rollins in order to stop her from making of the next Barry Trotter film, “Barry Trotter and the Inevitable Attempt to Cash In” or it will bring an end to the Hogwash School for Wizards. Muggles know where the school is thanks to Barry, but a film made about the place will inundate the place with unwashed and uncouth fans. Barry and Lon leave the school to seek out Ermine, now a teacher of wizards herself at the run down St. Hilary's in a bad part of town. Stopping at Rollins' mansion in Scotland, the author is not at home so they must travel to America to take up the search. Seeking Rollin in Manhattan, New York, where Lon's brothers Jorge and Ferd are now marginally employed, seems to be a deadend.
Rollins is found at the publishing house offices of Fantastic, where she is a prisoner forced to pen her novels in a dungeon-like lower level. Previous works in the series by Rollin include: Barry Trotter and the Philosopher's Scone; Barry Trotter and the Chamberpot of Secrets; Barry Trotter and the Acne of Fire; Barry Trotter and the Order of the Penis; Barry Trotter and the Scary Magical Whatever; Barry Trotter and the Knights of Logorrhea; and who could forget Barry Trotter Goes Crazy and Kills a Bunch of Lawyers! Freeing the renowned author, they earn her eternal gratitude and then they depart for California to the studio of Wagner Bros. to put a stop to the film. With the five young wizards aboard a transcontinental locomotive, they depart from New York. Somewhere near Las Vegas Barry decides to seek out his idol, rock legend Art Valumord. Hafwid the game keeping giant, Bumblemore the wizened old the headmaster, Valumart the evil wizard, Serious Blech Barry's godfather, and others are there to help or hinder Barry in his quest. Magic, mischief, mayhem, and mature humor abound in this silly send up of the popular series. | ||
