This book is one in a series featuring detective Thomas Black. He lives and works in Seattle. He has been hired by a couple to find their missing teenage son. He has few clues and no pictures of the boy, as he tore them all up. The boy's brother Buzz is the only one who can really help. He stumbles upon a six-year-old suicide that may have something to do with the boy's disapperance. He felt that that there was something more to the suicide than meets the eye. Black finds out that he was right, when he stumbles upon a stash of several hundred thousand dollars hidden in an abandoned building where the man used to work.
