Book Review By L. Watson
Anne's Perfect Husband by Gayle Wilson

Major Ian Sinclair returns to England from fighting Napoleon with a piece of shrapnel in his chest which could kill him at any time. He is surprised to learn he is the guardian of Anne, the daughter of one of his officers. He is even more surprised to discover she is almost 20 years old. At the bullying of the headmistress of Anne's school, Ian plans to give her a season in London.

On the way to Ian's estate, Anne rescues him from highwaymen by hitting one of them with a branch. At that moment, Ian falls in love, but he cannot think of marriage when he knows he could die suddenly. He thinks Anne deserves a younger healthy man. But Anne does not want another man, she decides that Ian is her perfect husband. Ian tries not to give into his love for Anne and keeps trying to find Anne suitors. Anne has to convince Ian she only wants him and would rather be a spinster than marry someone else.
