Lady Nola Grenvale is known as St. Nola for the work she does to assist widows of soldiers. As the daughter of an earl, she has no money worries and does not care that she is 25, unmarried and far from the ideal beauty of Regency society. Her concern is to set up a bazaar where the widows can sell their goods and services to support themselves and their families.
Nola discovers the perfect building is owned by Gabriel Carr, a wealthy gentleman, who is successful in business. Gabriel has plans for the building which do not include letting Nola's widows use it for a bazaar. As Nola continues to pester Gabriel about the best use of the building, the friends and families of both Nola and Gabriel realize they would make an ideal pair. But Gabriel has a list of what he thinks would be ideal for a bride and Nola does not have the qualities on the list. Friends and family start to conspire to get Nola and Gabriel together. When Gabriel injures his leg, they arrange for Nola to assist Gabriel with his business. Working with Nola everyday makes Gabriel wonder if he should abandon his list. Nola meanwhile tries hard to remember her business objective and not get distracted by how handsome she finds Gabriel. But they start to realize that their friends and family are right -- they are ideal for each other. | ||
