Something is wrong in Achar. Brother-Leader Jaime of the Sensechal entrusts an important mission to the Battleaxe Axis Rivkahson, leader of the Sensechals elite fighting squad and bastard son of the now dead princess Rivkah. Axis must travel to the feared Silent Woman Woods, and to the keep within. There he is to find the long forgotten secrets of the Forbidden, who now threaten the Acharites from the north.
On this journey he is to escort the Lady Faraday, the betrothed of his hated half brother Borneheld back to her home at Ilfracombe.
