This is the 13th book in the CD Grimes series. "Bottleneck" is a somewhat disturbing work, because Moulton bases most of his mysteries on things on the news. This one begins with the murder of the woman who runs the community center in a mobile home village and leads to a kiddie porn ring.
CD has children of his own, and this is much too close to home. He uses the Crane facilities (he is 51% owner of the Crane conglomerate) to find where the pornography is being distributed, flies to Europe to gather evidence, and gets to use a disguise. He likes disguises. His main suspect is murdered, which leads to his learning the one behind the ring is not who he thought. The killer is still out there, and known, but can he be caught? If he is caught, can he get out of it with an insanity plea? | ||
