The Search by Iris Johanson

Sarah Patrick and her dog Montey are part of an elite K9 rescue squad. Together, they go to disaster sites and search for survivors, or for bodies. When Billionaire John Logan contacts Sarah, he tells her that one of his top secret scientific research facilities has been attacked. Many of the scientists (who were finding new cancer treatments) were killed, and one has been kiddnaped and held for ransom. Logan know roughly where the missing scientist is being held, and he needs Sarah and Montey to locate him. Sarah knows Logan from the past and she doesn't trust him. She is furious when he strong arms her into the investigation, but when he assures her that she and Montey will be kept safe, she finally agrees to help. However, when their target is located, Sarah and Logan discover that the attack on the labs was a personal vendetta against Logan himself.
